2012 Race Report

The wet weather over the last few days gave way to beautiful sunshine for the Studland Stampede, but left a very wet and muddy route for the runners to negotiate, adding to the excitement and fun of the event. Peter Thompson from Bournemouth AC took first place in 47:16 for the men, followed by Sam Denman with 47:51. In third place was Chris Weeks from Purbeck Runners in 49:33.

We had some impressive times from the ladies, with Christina Squire returning to the Stampede to hold onto her title as first female with 57:09, a few seconds quicker than her winning time in 2011 despite this year’s wetter course. Helena Chessher from Zoom Tri Club was in second place with 59:17. Louella O’Herlihy took third place with 1:00:46.
